Our Practice
Human Growth & Training Associates is the oldest private practice in the Wilmington Area. We currently provide therapy for all ages and needs. We also work with multiple Employee Assistance Programs throughout the area.
Howard Grotsky

Dr. Grotsky has been with Human Growth & Training since 1976. He is currently specializing in high conflict divorce cases, working with Armed Service Veterans, relationship issues, and adults. Dr. Grotsky utilizes cognitive behavior, reality, and supportive therapies.

Kimberly has been in the field for 18 years where she primarily works with teenagers and young adults. Kimberly's primary treatment modalities are cognitive behavioral therapy and solution focused. She is experienced with relationship issues, stress management, and women's issues.

Jessa has been in practice for 13 years and with experience working with children, adolescents, and adults with various mental health and intellectual/developmental challenges. She practices a strengths-based therapeutic approach that focuses on an individual’s abilities, talents and resources. Understanding that each person can be very different in the way they learn, she is very adaptable to each individual that comes through her office door!

Danielle Kurtz is a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW). She is deeply committed to providing high-quality, evidence-based mental health care to her patients. She believes in a holistic and patient-centered approach to mental health care. She emphasizes the importance of building strong therapeutic relationships with her patients, understanding their unique needs, and collaboratively developing individualized treatment plans. Her goal is to empower patients to achieve optimal mental health and well-being through a combination of psychotherapy, medication management, and lifestyle modifications.
